More pleasing displays as Academy side register victory

Worlington's Academy side continued to deliver some pleasing performances, this time in a five wicket win away at Milden.

Winning the toss, Worlington elected to field first and dismissed the hosts for 142 with Brian Cole leading the way with figures of 4-12 supported by Liam Manels (3-37) who took further wickets on his return to the team.

There was also a first senior wicket for the 14 year old slow bowler, Liam Halls (1-28) while Milden's Dominic Thomas was the top scorer, falling one short of his half century.

After tea, Worlington set about the run chase as Dan Abbs (22) featured in partnerships of 40 and 50 with Akram Khan (28) and Barny Bowens (38) respectively.

After these were dismissed, it was left to Oliver Vaughan and Paul Linthwaite to see their side home sharing unbeaten stand of 37, while Thomas cemented his claims for Milden's man of the match with figures of 3-28.
